The Letter C

Description

The Letter C
written and performed by M Waldron

The Letter C is a one woman show written and performed by M Waldron. A mix of science and poetry, hope and realism, grief and healing, the show is a personal exploration of a variety of topics that all begin with the letter “C”. Using a mixture of visual aids the show begins with a geology lesson in the first act, “Catastrophism”, and moves through a mixture of personal stories and experiences to arrive at the final act, “Community”. The Letter C will premier at The Sunflower Theatre.

M Waldron Review:

“In a world that has come to run on hurry and waste, quick judgment and shallow thought, be grateful there are still writers and thinkers like M. Waldron. M’s work will pierce your heart without the sting and elevate your mind without ego, all in a cadence that lets you linger, ponder, and step in deep, never being shamed for what you do or do not know. Rarely does a learned person use their writing so artistically as to have you inside science and soul in the same line of prose.” – TJ Zark

About Artist/Performer:
M Waldron is a poet, performer, explorer, baker and geologist. Her work centers stories of women, queer folks, heritage, and climate chaos, often told through metaphors of geology and food. Her explorations of grief, hope, and love in her home in the high desert and mountains of western Colorado deeply influence both her writing and performing. M self-published her first short collection of poems, American Catastrophism, in 2016. She has had several short prose pieces about various bike journeys published in Cyclista Zine.

She is the creator and founder of SPEAK, an original show featuring works written and performed by local women in the Yampa Valley. M ran SPEAK for 3 successful years, selling out each of the 3 nights of shows from 2017 through 2019. In late 2019 M gifted SPEAK to Young Bloods Collective and Advocates and the show has continued to evolve and provide a necessary space for storytelling in northwest Colorado.

Since moving to Montezuma County in 2022 M has been making connections in the amazing local writing and arts scene and began writing and refining various works that would become the compost for her one woman show.
