KSJD and High Desert Devo will host a family friendly Cortez Community Bike ride on Friday, September 19th. The group will gather at Montezuma Park at 5:45 and depart at 6pm for a mellow ride around Cortez. If you are interested in participating but don’t have your own bike, email ewritner@highdesertdevo.org for bike availability. After the ride is over, the group will gather at the Sunflower Theatre for an informative and social gathering to celebrate the new bike rack on Market Street (thanks to the LOR Foundation’s support).
This event is about connecting in a fun low-pressure environment with other members of our community who enjoy being on bikes! We welcome bikers of all ages and their families. Through these community rides, we hope to strengthen a safe and enjoyable bike culture. Our gathering at the Sunflower Theatre will always include an educational bike safety component and/or discussion, and the bar will be open with beer (for adults 21+) and bubbly waters for purchase. We hope you will join us and bring friends or family members along!
